  • Sauna: You are welcome to use our sauna, but please be aware that there is an 'honesty box' for payment of 5 euro per use.

We have Plenty of board games for you to enjoy as well as a wide range of books for you to cozy up by the fire to read. Internet:
We have wireless internet in both the main house ad the annex. However as the property is large it is not available everywhere. Outdoor Areas: In the front of the house we have a large natural stone paved terrace with outdoor seating and BBQ with beautiful views of Bantry Bay in the distance. In the back of the house we have another BBQ area, a fire pit , a big swing, and more gardens with lawns, secret nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Parking: When you come to the boreen for Hagal Farm (blue /white sign), please note it is a dirt track, very steep and narrow - it is advisable to drive up in first or second gear. There is a parking area to the right just before you come to the main house. There are steps leading up to Hagal Farm from the parking area. Please park your car here and use the steps to access the house. You can drive right up to the house to load and unload but please do not leave your vehicles here for any length of time as the farmer will be unable to get his tractor into his barn opposite. 1. Recycling: Please CLEAN all items before putting them in the bin.
  2. Compost: This is for all UNCOOKED foods, like potato skins, apple cores etc.

The Neighbourhood & Getting Around

The Neighbourhood Hagal Farm is the place for you if you enjoy the country side, nature and quiet!! We are reasonably 'far out', some would even call it 'in the middle of nowhere!'
The nearest village to us is KealKill. It's around 7km away (12 min drive). This has one grocery shop and a pub.
Bantry, a lively seaside town, is 12km from us and it has numerous shops, restaurants, bars, a large supermarket and a cinema. It also has a great Organic shop and cafe. This is our main town, and it's around 20 mins drive from the Farm. Make sure to visit the Bantry market on a Friday morning - the biggest market is held on the first Friday of the month. Bantry House is a lovely old estate with beautiful gardens that you can visit. There is a golf course in Bantry and the local hotel has a leisure centre open to the public. There are loads of beautiful walks in the area, the nearest one is just on Hagal's doorstep (Sheeps Head Way) which continues out all along the peninsula. Glengarriff is a tourist town 24km away, which has lovely Irish tourist shops, beautiful old woodlands, boat trips to Garnish Island (Italian Gardens), Ewe Gardens and more. You willl find plenty of maps, walking route books and tourist information in the Hagal Farm conservatory. Getting Around Please do realise that we are 12km out off Bantry town, so make sure you arrive with your shopping done! There is no public transport. Please ask us to give you the numbers of our well known and trusted taxi drivers! Directions from Cork: From the N22 Tralee road, take the R585 via Crookstown. Stay on the R585 following all signs to Bantry (note that the R585 does take a few turnings!). When you arrive in Kealkill turn left opposite the pub just as you come into the village and go up the hill, following signs to the Stone Circle. Between a yellow house and a white house there is a turning to the left, follow this past the Stone Circle and keep going up and then down into the Mealagh Valley. At the T junction turn left and after a few kilometers look out for the Hagal Farm sign and turn right. Directions from Bantry: Follow signs to N71 Killarney. Once past the Circle K garage on the outskirts of town there is a right hand turning after you cross the bridge just before a sharp bend to the left. This is the L4718 signed to Bantry Storage/Lahadane. Keep on this road for 15/20 minutes until you see the Hagal Farm sign where you will turn left.

There is a massage therapist who lives next door. She offers a wide range of treatments and can come to the farm or you can take a short walk to her treatment rooms. Learn more or book here.
